Trigger Secrets Revealed

Anti-science attitudes seem to be often caused by fear of rejection in social groups. For instance, climate change is perceived as a threat by only 22% of Americans on the right side of the political spectrum, but by 85% on the left. That is, if someone on the left would not consider climate change as a threat, this person may face contempt and be rejected in that social group.
Harmful environmental issues such as ozone depletion, ocean acidification, eutrophication and climate change came to the public's attention and caused the onset of environmental studies. During this time, the declared purpose and value of science became producing wealth and inventions that would improve human lives, in the materialistic sense of having more food, clothing, and other things. New knowledge in science is advanced by research from scientists who are motivated by curiosity about the world and a desire to solve problems. Contemporary scientific research is highly collaborative and is usually done by teams in academic and research institutions, government agencies, and companies.
In combination with confirmation bias, the fallacy has a huge potential to mislead. So science has this one big important rule that just because something is correlated with something else doesn’t mean it caused that something else. Social science explores relationships and cultures among humans (e.g., sociology, anthropology, economics).
Some marginalized social groups hold anti-science attitudes, in part because these groups have often been exploited in unethical experiments. For Kuhn, the addition of epicycles in Ptolemaic astronomy was "normal science" within a paradigm, whereas the Copernican revolution was a paradigm shift. The theory of atoms was developed by the Greek philosopher Leucippus and his student Democritus. The Greek doctor Hippocrates established the tradition of systematic medical science and is known as "The Father of Medicine". The leaf-like appearance of glassfrogs results from highly transparent muscle and belly skin tissue in combination with their translucent green dorsal skin.
Total research funding in most developed countries is between 1.5% and 3% of GDP. In the OECD, around two-thirds of research and development in scientific and technical fields is carried out by industry, and 20% and 10% respectively by universities and government. The government funding proportion in certain fields is higher, and it dominates research in social science and humanities.
A classic example of scientific explanation is the theory of classical conditioning. His initial research goal was to prove that dogs salivate more when food is presented to them. After a laboratory assistant repeatedly brought food to the experimental dogs, however, Pavlov discovered that the dogs began salivating when they heard the assistant's Science footsteps. This accidental discovery immediately became the focus of Pavlov's future research. This depiction of the scientific method indicates how the results of one research project informs the development of a subsequent investigation. Scientists statistically analyze their data to see if the alternative hypothesis is indeed true.
